The Hardest Park
The clock on the wall
reads just past ten
its ticking in time with my beating heart
Sleep just won’t come again
when dreams of you haunt my mind
closing my eyes becomes the hardest part
And all I want is to leave you behind
And I know that all I need
is your sweet lullaby (makes me sick)
the sound of your voice
the look in her eye
says leaving was never your choice
and you barely let me off the ground
give these wound a chance to heal
before you come back around
and try to tell me your feelings are real
And to you its fair
to use me briefly (like a tool)
did you ever really care
and you leave me again (I must be a fool)
So go on and burn your bridges
You think you’ve got it all
me and you will never be the same,
so wait till you fall
I won’t be there
I want you to know your the one to blame
don’t bother calling my name
